Ok, I might just be a bit jealous as they have said their farewell and headed South for the Winter…sigh… always hard not hearing the sound of their wings every morning. I will miss them so much and that little bit of brightness they bring to my day. Winter can be so hard. I will leave the feeders up for a while for any serious procrastinators in their bunch! I can always hope! Enjoy those Mexican flowers guys!

I am glad to have a few flowers left for these guys coming through! So much fun to watch them figuring out how exactly to approach the landing! Or I’m getting the look…”Are you sure this nectar is fresh lady?!” Cheeky beggars!

We had a chunky monkey come through last week! Well-rounded! I got a dirty look when I commented on his roundness;) He said he had a long way to go and to bugger off! Ha! That’s what the look said anyway;)

It’s been over two weeks since our resident male left the area, ceding his territory to the juveniles.

I’ll keep my eyes out for any stragglers in the next few days, camera in hand.

I caught this guy when the sun came out yesterday afternoon; I thought they were done. He was just checking the flower out, like “What the hell is this yellow monstrosity?” Not bad for a $2 Dollarama tuber! I told him!

My very latest sighting in the last few years was September 20th! So there is hope! I will keep my eyes and ears peeled for the sound of wings! Saludos amigos!
