On our way! Astro Gypsies in Ensenada

7-10-LowtideAsign

Yes, finally, after the talking and planning and yes, scheming we have begun our trek! We picked up our trailer in San Diego and headed South to Ensenada after our walk-through at the dealer. Trailers are trailers really whether they hold hay, horses or people so there wasn’t too much new to go over other than the weight distribution hitch which was new to us. Our quest from the start was to find a trailer our 2013 Toyota Tundra could pull and stay a fair bit under its maximum haul capacity. We looked at Winnebagos but they were at the limit and finally decided on A Crossroads Trail Reserve 32RL that had a floor-plan that suited us for living in, with the ancianos, our three older cats…it had to pass their inspection;)..and our pocketbook:)..and our weight limit. It weighed in at 7760 lbs a good bit under our 10,400 hauling capacity-that was before telescopes, so I’m sure it has gone up a bit after nesting.

The electric fireplace won hands down-Thank you Human:)

After a rough trip out the dirt lane way packed to the gills with telescopes, totes, clothes and cats we made it the three and a half hours to Ensenada with a minimum amount of howling. We were worried how the three old guys would settle in to a new routine..cats being cats. After a bit of nosing about and some food and water it was nap-time..good to see some things don’t change!

Mike placed his first I’m sure of many bumper stickers to come…was he referring to himself, or the three yellow felines on board, or as some have suggested..me?..Moi?

Just who is he referring to?

So now that Mike has settled in and unpacked all his toys to share with the surrounding public he seems quite happy. He had a good crowd for Venus, Jupiter and Saturn last night as well as some sun viewers this morning and even had time to take a few shots. It is such a joy to see and hear people’s reactions to seeing Saturn for the first time. We received several hugs from one gentleman who was so overwhelmed at the experience. The security guards here at Estero Beach Hotel and RV Park have had a grand time every time they pass by stopping for a look and 20 questions..it is wonderful to share what we know and how we see it.

Hard at work in this awful location;)

We would certainly recommend this amazing place to anyone with an RV that would like a very quiet and secure location. The staff is incredibly helpful as well as the management. Estero Beach Hotel and RV Park is well worth the visit.

I leave you with this sunset from last night…excuse my learning skills at WordPress, I’m just still bumbling around but hope to get a better handle on things as I go, especially the photo placement..sigh..but there are no really solid walls in the trailer for me to bang my head against so I’ll have to remain calm and have glass of wine:)

I’ll fill you in on the wildlife around here tomorrow, and I’m not talking about the humans;)

Goodnight everyone
