I think we are here! Spring, finally, Part 1;)

Ok, we made past Happy Chocolate Bunny Day, the bunny was held for ransom and we had to fork over some tuna, but all in all, it went well! Ha! Rain days, rainy nights, watching the snow slowly disappear, that is a wonderful feeling! Then we had more snow…it is just me or did we actually have six Winters?
We did get a fabulous surprise driving out the road to go into town and there in the swamp…swans! Trumpeter Swans, yes, bummer of a name, but we’ll ignore that! Our Mailbox swan family was back!
I jumped out of the car, no, it wasn’t moving. almost but Mike does stop when I yell…STOP, STOP, STOP! Ha!

There was a whole pack, geese, swans. Mom and Dad were keeping junior in line so I was pretty sure this was our family from last year! So happy to see them! They were not too perturbed by my presence as well so, maybe, just maybe, they know me?!

Junior gave me a big stretch after his/her parents bit him in the butt!

I can’t describe the happiness of seeing these birds return, year after year! Someone had a bit of an issue getting over a log, but all was well as they swam off…

Then came the weather reports…flurries? More snow? What happened to Spring? Winter #5! Ha!

We had a visitor munching on what was available…maple leaves? Truly a Canadian deer!

Then it started to snow again!…sigh…♫♪♫ Always look on the bright side of life!♪♫♪

You do what you have to do:) Last chance to photograph birds in the snow…I hope?
Thankfully, it didn’t last long…Winter #5;) The feeder became very busy during the colder snap!

Everyone waiting for their turn…

I noticed a Tree Sparrow with a deformed lower beak, but it seemed to be doing fine gathering and eating seeds!

The Mewberries were NOT impressed by the newly fallen white stuff, they couldn’t possibly, actually STEP in it! Ha!

How quickly we forget…it’s like the first warm day erases your memory of the cold snowy ones!;) The Grackles were not impressed either!

We really didn’t need the additional snow…

But the next day, all was melting! Yeah! Again! Melting..sigh…will it ever end?
The Canada Goose pair had hooked up with a Mallard pair in the swamp, they didn’t mind me walking by:)

No sign of the Trumpeter Swans though 🙁 It felt like we might be turning a corner with a glorious sunrise and an evil bunny contrail…you look for signs where you can!

Crossed my fingers and chanted NO MORE ICE! Ha! Maybe, just maybe…it will happen…stay tuned for part#2:)
